Secondly, from the perspective of dismantling and recycling, the diversity of battery types makes the recycling process extremely complicated, and the different sizes lead to the lack of mature complete sets of equipment available in the industry, resulting in high battery recycling efficiency and time costs. Recycled batteries have low heat.


A salesperson of a 4S store in Beijing that mainly sells new energy told reporters that at present, manufacturers do not have relevant policies for battery recycling, so scrapped batteries are generally handled by 4S stores themselves.


A BYD insider also confirmed the statement. Said that the current regulations do not have mandatory requirements for power battery recycling. BYD and other car companies involved in battery business will recycle batteries, while most new energy car companies that do not involve battery business have no clear requirements for recycling.


At present, battery companies including Waterma, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, CATL, AVIC Lithium Battery, BAK and other battery companies have launched battery recycling business, but due to the lack of cooperation from car companies, the market share of waste batteries that can be recycled is very small. Considering the low economic efficiency and the lack of application channels, even most of the batteries that have been recycled are just stranded in warehouses, and very few are really efficiently processed.


However, driven by the generally optimistic market prospects and social responsibility in the industry, companies have always been enthusiastic about the exploration of battery recycling business models. Except for BYD Ti's establishment of efficient dismantling and recycling plants, it is gradually applied to the business model of home energy storage and communication base stations. In addition, Waterma has also explored a set of decommissioned power battery recycling solutions, that is, batteries with cascade utilization value are used in energy storage power stations and mobile electric vehicles, and batteries cannot be used in cascade to regenerate decomposed materials to avoid environmental pollution.


In addition, CATL, BAK and other enterprises also have unique advantages in recycling applications. The continuous exploration and maturity of the enterprise model will promote the progress of technology, and the progress of technology will also promote the improvement of regulations, and in turn, the improvement of regulations will also Further promote the progress of technology and the mature development of the model.


Although the current battery recycling market is far from mature, the market will develop in a healthy and orderly direction under the complementary promotion of regulations, technologies and models.
